In life-threatening situations, call the national emergency number 112. You will be connected with the emergency room of the central ambulance service. They will ask for your address, who the emergency is about and what problem is. Don’t panic and try to answer calmly, help is on the way.
In the case of minor accidents, stitches, burns or falls, you can call the practice for an appointment that same day.

After consultation hours, the huisartsenpost will take care of urgent consultations. All of the general practitioners in Amsterdam work together at the huisartsenpost and will take care of you urgent medical inquiries that can not wait until the next day.

Opening hours
You can go to the huisartsenpost, every working day after 5 pm until 8 am the next day for an emergency. The huisartsenpost is also open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Always make an appointment and keep your insurance details at hand.
